Friday, March 27, the FFR decided to cancel all amateur rugby competitions, at all levels. It will therefore be a white season, with no champion designated.
It’s official: amateur rugby is finished with its 2019-2020 season. The FFR confirmed the news this Friday, March 27, after the French government announced a new period of containment due to the epidemic of coronavirus (covid-19).
From Federal 1 to the 4th Series, rugby is stopped until resumption next September. “The FFR has taken the painful decision to permanently stop the amateur championships at all levels for the current season,” it said in a press release.
No champion!
As a result, the FFR confirms that there will be no championship title awarded this season. Regarding the climbs and relegations of national competitions, this will be decided before April 3. In short, it announces a very long vacation for amateur rugby.
