Rugby Klub Bratislava v sobotu 1. decembra privítal RUC Piešťany. Piešťanci nahradili Stade de Vienne, ktoré sa pre nedostatok hráčov na konci sezóny ospravedlnili.
Získali sme tak ďalší slovenský zápas. Aj my sme sa počas víkendu pasovali s oklieštenou zostavou. Veľa hráčov sa ospravedlnilo z rodinných dôvodov, pre cestovanie či ochorenie, takže nám chýbala viac ako polovica tímu. Zachránila nás opäť raz Žilina, za čo sme veľmi vďační – pricestovali na zápas stovky kilometrov, kým na našich partnerov z bližších končín sme sa nemohli spoľahnúť.
Nastúpili sme v 14, Piešťany postavili plný tím plus lavičku. Nanešťastie, prezident Piešťan odmietol vyrovnanie síl, napriek tomu, že išlo o prípravný zápas. Zvláštny prejav rugbyového ducha, no uspeli sme, skórovali sme hneď na začiatku a často sme sa pohybovali vpredu, hrali sme rukami, prenikali cez medzery a mali sme dobrú zadnú líniu napriek nedostatku hráčov.
V druhom polčase iba tímy prišli o niekoľko hráčov z dôvodu zranení, takže sme hrali 13 na 14. Na konci už sme chýbajúceho hráča cítili, v obrane sme mali medzery, dopúšťali sme sa základných chýb a vysokých skládok a ofsajdov pri rucku. Zvýraznilo to fakt, že hráčom RKB chýba kondička a vo všeobecnosti osobný fitness. Ale to je celoslovenský problém.
Náš lineout je stále skvelý, obrana sa zlepšuje napriek minulým zlým výkonom. Naša zadná línia predviedla aj zopár zaujímavých ťahov, takže sa to už viac podobá na ozajstné rugby a nie len na bezcieľne pobiehanie po ihrisku s loptou. Treba ešte zlepšiť pozicionovanie teoretickou prípravou, viac skúšaní na tréningoch a osobný záujem hráčov sledovať zápasy profesionálneho rugby.
Veľká vďaka našim asistentom, Sandra, Petra a Šimon pomohli s médiami (video, fotky) i s predajom občerstvenia v klube.
Zmienku si zaslúži aj tréner Richy, ktorý sa výrazne angažuje na tréningoch a mimoriadne sa snaží zlepšiť fitness, nasadenie a technické zručnosti napriek absenciám hráčov na tréningoch.
Na dobrý zápas treba okrem tímov i dobrého rozhodcu. Na Slovensku zlý manažment rozhodcovskej akadémie, pri výplatách rozhodcov a zlý postoj niektorých hráčov na ihrisku pôsobia ako demotivujúci faktor, ovplyvňujúci ochotu rozhodovať. Sme radi, že máme Zulfa, ktorý rozhoduje spravodlivo pre oba tímy – a prispôsobuje sa aj slovenskej situácii, keď občas obom tímom odpustí základné chyby, aby nenarušil plynulosť hry.

Rugby perspektíva do roku 2020
RKB nebude obhajovať svoje pozície na Valných zhromaždeniach, konajúcich sa v Česku. Napriek veľkému úsiliu pri komunikácii a snahe o kompromisy sa stále motáme dokola, pričom sa nezohľadňuje rugby život a všetky problémy, ktorým čelíme (tréningy, finančná podpora, organizácia, rugby akadémia)
Napriek týmto okolnostiam sme na jeseň 2019 odohrali zatiaľ najäčšie množstvo zápasov – až 8 (vrátane 6 doma)

Budúci rok neočakávame na strane SRU zlepšenie. Stále neexistuje kalendár, podľa ktorého by sme si mohli zorganizovať naše interné zápasy a osobnú agendu. Na druhú stranu, radi v prípravnom zápase privítame akýkoľvek slovenský klub – kontaktujte nás a nájdeme dátum – len aby sme si zahrali.
Máme dvoch aktívnych členov, ktorí môžu ponúknuť profesionálne rady v rámci tréningu i podpory rugby. Aj v tomto prípade sú naše dvere otvorené a my ponúkame tieto zručnosti komukoľvek s mozgom, komu záleží na propagácii rugby na Slovensku a kto rozumie každotýždenným problémom, ktorým čelíme.
V RKB sme dokázali, že rozvoj je možný aj s málom a vďaka motivovaným ľuďom s európskymi kompetenciami – lepšie ako opité stretnutie bez výsledkov. Môžeme navrhnúť športový plán od ľudí, ktorí profesionálne uspeli v rozličných odvetviach.

Report Rugby Klub Bratislava – Rugby Club Piestany
The Rugby Klub Bratislava has received the Rugby Club Piestany on Sunday 1st of December, in replacement of Stade de Vienne who was a bit short of players, at the end of the year.
Anyhow, we have invited Piestany who accepted the offer, for an additional fixture in Slovakia.
We were short that week-end, with incredibility quite big amount of players dropping, due to family reasons, trips, or sickness – with more than half of the squad missing. Zilina save us once again, and we are so grateful for that, for a match taking places hundred kilometers away, when we couldn’t rely on partners who were living a way closer.
We were only 14 and Piestany, reinforced with Zilina as well, fully 15 with a bench. Unfortunately, the President of Piestany was not willing to go down for a fair 14vs14, despite having a ”friendly match”. Pretty awkward deal for the rugby spirit, but we have managed it, scoring at the beginning and often moving forward, carrying the ball, playing through the gates, with somehow a good back-line despite the lack of players.
On the second half, both teams lost players on injuries, and we move down 13 vs 14. At the end, RKB could fill missing one player on the pitch was a certain deal, having gap through the defense, we have made couple of basic mistakes with high tackles and off side around the ruck. However, it doesn’t hide the fact RKB players miss proper cardio and personal fitness in general (some players do it well) is pretty poor, as in Slovakia also.
Our line out is still great, defense improving regarding the bad performances we had previously. Our back-line shows interesting moves looking more like a rugby gameplay instead dogs running around to play with the ball. Positioning needs to be improve, with proper theoretical coaching, more practice to the trainings, and personal interests to the players by watching full match on screen from Pro rugby.
A big thanks to our assistants, with Sandra, Petra, Simon, supporting for the medias (video, photos), and serving drinks and food in the club house.
Also, a great mention to our coach Richy, involved as never to the trainings and giving his best to improve the fitness, the commitment, the technical skills towards a crew missing often the sessions for some reasons.
As well, a good game needs two good teams, but also a good and fair referee. In Slovakia, the bad management of the referee academy, the payment, and the bad attitude of some players on the pitch have demotivated some to refer matches. RKB is so pleased to have Zulf involved with the group life, applying the rules properly and fairly for both teams – also adapting to the Slovak situation where sometimes we could see basic mistakes and letting the game on for a better gameplay.

Rugby perspectives for 2020
The RK Bratislava doesn’t rely on the General assembly, based in Czech Republic, to defend our positions and interests. Despite great efforts of communication and compromises, we still drifting around with club rugby life not taking in consider, with all difficulties we may face (trainings, financial support, organization, rugby academy).
Despite those circumstances, we were able to play the biggest amount of matches this Autumn 2019 ever, with 8 fixtures (included 6 home matches).

We don’t expect huge improvements in SRU for the next year, we still don’t have calendar months ahead to organize our internal fixtures and personal agenda. In the other hand, we are willing to open the gates to any club in Slovakia for a Test match. Contact us and we would arrange a date ; for the glory of just playing.
Also, we have two great active members in RKB, who could provide professional advises with professional contracts in term of coaching and promoting rugby. On that matter, we also open the gates to propose local and domestic amazing competencies who anyone with a brain willing to develop the rugby in Slovakia, who understand the weekly troubles we may face here.
In RKB, we have proven great development with few, and could apply nice methods thanks to European competencies with motivated people surrounded the crew – better than a drunk meeting without outputs – we can propose a sporting plan from people who have delivered on the professional side, on different industries.
