Rugby Klub Bratislava cestoval do Žiliny v oklieštenej zostave – jednak pre 1. máj a jednak pre 4 ťažké zranenia, ktoré vyradili dobrých hráčov základnej zostavy zo zápasu. Našťastie sme sa mohli znova spoľahnúť na podporu Trnavy (Maxime, Michal a Tomáš) a Piešťan (Adam).

Do Žiliny sme prirodzene smerovali s omnoho menším sebavedomím ako pred zápasom s Piešťanmi pred mesiacom, v ktorom bola naša obrana otvorená ako dvere do krčmy. Takže možno nám pomôže viac rešpektu pred súperom čo sa týka skládok a udržania lopty.

Tentoraz sme skúsili novú taktiku: menej kopov, viac hry rukami, udržanie lopty. Nejako to fungovalo, hoci sme nemali ani jedného náhradníka na lavičke. Som však veľmi spokojný, nemali sme ani jedného zraneného.

Čerstvé RKB sa ujalo vedenia dvoma päťkami, pričom jedna bola premenená. Žilina sa však dotiahla. V druhom polčase sme už boli viac vyčerpaní, zvlášť rojníci, ktorí odviedli perfektnú robotu. Bez ohľadu na to, koľkí sme boli na ihrisku, trénovať takúto skupinu ako hrajúci tréner je šťastie. Hráči, ktorí bojovali za čierny dres až do konca, to sme my: veríme v hodnoty, ktoré sú za logom RKB.

Nanešťastie, na posledných desať minút som musel odísť na trestnú lavicu, napriek penalte v náš prospech. Žilinské číslo 9 z Česka totiž úmyselne držalo loptu a odhodilo ju, hoci som chcel rozohrať rýchlo.

Čo sa týka bezpečnosti, Žiline by som odporučil zabezpečiť si ochranu tyčí namiesto narážačov, len tak opretých o ne bez akéhokoľvek uchytenia.

Celkovo bol duch hry nádherný a zápas v tento slnečný deň musel byť zábavný pre fanúšikov. RKB oceňuje tímového ducha, napriek negatívnemu momentu, spomenutému vyššie. ŽIlina je na čele ligy, rozhodnutie o víťazovi padne o pár týždňov v priamej konfrontácii Žiliny a Piešťan.

Veľmi by sme chceli poďakovať Andree, priateľke nášho hráča Christopha, ktorá bola nosičkou vody a významnou podporou.

Ak bude treba RKB môže poskytnúť podporu v zápase Piešťan a Žiliny.

Teraz sa môžeme sústrediť detský turnaj v nedeľu 14. mája, kam je každý pozvaný, aby sa prišiel pozrieť na deti v akcii.

V júni na nás čakajú dve sedmičkové podujatia a koncom mesiaca zrejme zápas vo Viedni proti RC Donau-B.

Zilina 46 – 26 RK Bratislava

The Rugby Klub Bratislava went to Zilina with a reduce squad, due to the 1st May, and 4 bad injuries which kept good players, part of the starting squad, away for this main event.
Luckily, the club could rely on the support of Trnava (Maxime, Michal, Tomas), and Piestany (Adam).

Actually and naturally, we went to Zilina with much less confidence than the match against Piestany a month ago where our defense was like saloon gates. So may be it helps us to be more respectful to our opponents, in terms of tackling, and conservation of the ball.

New tactic was applied at this time: less kicks, more playing with hands, keeping the ball for giving for free to the opponents. Somehow it works, despite none player on the bench to cover us. We didn’t have any injured player, and I am very pleased.

The Rugby Klub Bratislava, fresh and clean, was able to lead the match with two tries, which one transformed, while Zilina came back to the score. On the second half, we’ve started to be more exhausted, specially our forwards who made a terrific job today, and no matter how many we were on the pitch that day, it makes very happy to lead the group as a coach-player. People fighting for the black jersey to the end, this is how we are made: we believe on values there are behind the logo RKB.

Unfortunately, the last 10 mn, I have received a sin bin, caused from a penalty on our favor, but the number 9 of Zilina coming from CZ kept intentionally the ball and through it away when I was asking to play it quickly.
In term of safety, I would recommend Zilina to have protect protect around the rugby posts, instead to let simply shield in front, without any fixation around.

The global spirit was wonderful and the gameplay for the supporters coming during the sunny day was pretty entertaining from the two teams. RKB still appreciate the good team spirit, despite the negative moment mentioned above. Zilina is leading the Slovak championship, and the final decision would be made in few weeks for the match Piestany vs Zilina.

The Rugby Klub Bratislava might bring support if needed to Piestany vs Zilina.
Now we will think about the tournament for children on Sunday 14. May, where we invite everyone to come and see children in full action.

In June, we would have expected two rugby 7s events, plus end of the month possibly a month in Wien against RC Donau-B.
