Even though it didn’t seem like today would be a shiny warm day, Sunday the 13th of December was a beautiful day for my first Rugby XV match. The morning freeze and fog at the beginning pumped us to play a full contact match at 100 %.
Our opponents, the junior selection U18 from clubs of Piestany, Zilina and RKB didn’t give us any choice as well. Finally, I was able to try the difference between Rugby 7s and Rugby 15s on my own directly in a game and not only in the training. Moreover the skilled trainers (Charlie) had a patience with us and showed us during the game what we’re doing well and where we should improve. That brought me many experiences and I finally got the idea of learning by doing.
The attendance was great too and I am glad to see that the short journey of Rugby Klub Bratislava is positive and in every training or match, there are more and more players. I think we said a goodbye to a successful year and cannot wait what will bring the next year 2016 for me and for RKB.
If you still want to give a try to a Rugby, our last training this year will be on Wednesday 16th December at 18:00 at Trnavská cesta. It would be pleasure for us to welcome you in a good atmosphere and Christmas spirit. Let´s go and play rugby!

Aj keď to dnes nevyzeralo na pekný slnečný deň, nedeľa 13. Decembra sa stala pre mňa skvelým dňom na môj prvý rugby 15 zápas. Ranný mráz a hmla na začiatku nás motivovala hrať zápas na 100 %. Náš protivník, výber juniorských hráčov z klubov Pieštany, Žilina a RKB, nám ani nakoniec nedal na výber.
Bol som rád, že konečne si môžem vyskúšať rozdiel medzi rugby 7s a rugby 15s nielen na tréningu, ale aj priamo v hre. Skúsení tréneri mali s nami trpezlivosť a počas hry nám ukázali, čo robíme správne a v čom by sme sa mali zlepšiť. Práve preto som sa naučil mnoho nových vecí a už rozumiem prečo sa hovorí, že v praxi sa človek naučí najviac. Účasť bola taktiež vysoká a veľmi ma teší, že krátke pôsobenie Rugby Klubu Bratislava prináša pozitívne výsledky pričom na každom tréningu alebo zápase privítame nových hráčov.
Myslím si, že dnes sme sa rozlúčili s úspešným rokom a nemôžem sa dočkať čo prinesie rok 2016 pre mňa a pre RKB.
Ak by si predsa chcel vyskúšať rugby ešte tento rok, náš posledný tréning bude v stredu 16 decembra o 18:00 na Trnavskej ceste. Radi ťa medzi nami privítame v dobrej nálade a s vianočným duchom. Poď hrať Rugby!
