Report: Rugby Klub Bratislava vs Rugby Club Dragon Brno

Bolo nám potešením zahrať si po prvý raz proti Rugby Clubu Dragon Brno.
České rugby má iný kalendár, sezóna prebieha od jari do jesene, takže väčšina klubov už ukončila sezónu. Vznikla tak príležitosť pozvať si miešaný A+B tím.

Na európsku úroveň si zvykáme ťažkou prehrou.

Brno má silný roj, hrajú do obrany s množstvom off-loadov. Vďaka dobrému tréningu sme im mohli čeliť dobrou obranou a efektívnym line-outom.
Ako však ukázali aj predchádzajúce zápasy, naša slabina bola na vonkajšej strane, medzi druhým centrom a krídlami a čiastočne full-backom. Brno má dobrú hru v útoku, často hrali v dvoch vlnách naraz, čo nás zmiatlo.

Podarilo sa nám však položiť poslednú päťku v zápase, čo ukázalo našu mentálnu silu napriek malému počtu náhradníkov. Čo však naši hostia nevedeli, posledná päťka vyhráva zápas, takže sorry Dragons, život niekedy nie je spravodlivý.

Počas nádhernej ceremónie po zápase sme dostali od Brno Dragon pekné darčeky. Na oplátku sme sa dohodli na partnerstve na budúci rok, počas ktorého by sme radi vycestovali do Brna. Už dlhý čas sme nešli na rugbyový výlet, naposledy pred tromi rokmi na sedmičkový turnaj do Brna Bystrc.

Vďaka našej novej klubovni môžeme ponúknuť ľuďom kávu, pivo, jedlo a deti sa môžu hrať na Xboxe. Klubovňa je children-friendly a vhodná pre celé rodiny.

Ďakujeme Linde a Nigelovi z Dragon Brno za to, že sa toto stretnutie mohlo uskutočniť.

We have been pleased to host for the first time a match against Rugby Club Brno Dragon.
The Czech Republic rugby having a different calendar, they play the full year from spring till autumn, and most of the club now have finished their season.
It was then an opportunity to invite them, with a mix B-team A-team.

No matter how, we are getting used to such European level now with heavy loss.

Brno had a strong pack, playing into the defense with a lot of off-loads, but thanks to great training, we could counter with a good defense and efficient line out.
However, as the previous matches, our weakness was on the outside, between the outside center, the wingers, and partially the full back. Brno had a proper gameplay with the back, playing with two waves at once, confusing us.

For the glory, we have scored the last try of the match, showing our mental strength when our bench was pretty light. As the visitor didn’t know, last try win, so RKB has won the match, sorry Dragon life is sometimes unfair – deal with that.

Thanks to a wonderful ceremony, the RKB had the chance to receive nice gifts, representing Brno Dragon. And in return, we have agree about a partnership for then next year, and we expect to go to Brno. It has been a long time we didn’t travel over there for a rugby trip, last time was three years ago for the Brno Bystrc 7s.

As well, thanks to our newly club house, we could host the crew for a hot coffee, beers, food, where kids could play Xbox to make the place children friendly and dedicated to the families also. Thanks Linda from Brno Dragon and Nigel for making it happens.
