Scorching heat and lack of men wasn’t what beat us in the first match of the 7s tournament in Trnava. It was rather lack of discipline and individual mistakes. However with further matches we improved to be at least a tough opponent but then the sun and no subs were difficult to handle. Pity, but it still was a good tournament to attend to get further match experience and finding what we need to work on.
Veľká horúčava a nedostatok hráčov neboli tým, čo nás porazilo v prvom zápase sedmičkového turnaja v Trnave. Bol to skôr nedostatok disciplíny a individuálne chyby. V ďalších zápasoch sme sa už zlepšovali, takže sme nakoniec boli aspoň silným súperom. Slnko a nedostatok náhradníkov však už spravili svoje. Škoda, no i tak to bol dobrý turnaj na získanie zápasových skúseností a zistenie, v čom sa treba zlepšovať.

It was also the first tournament without our great leader Vladimir Kubala. Personally a lost a close friend, a very good challenger leading the Slovak rugby when I was leading the Rugby Klub Bratislava. There are very few persons we know how valuable they are and are irreplaceable.
For those who wanna support his family during this difficult period, you can donate at the training. We believe the best way to keep his legacy alive is to find more and more players, and also eventually to create a new club in big cities in Slovakia, hopefully.
I was very pleased for the organization in Trnava with the good communication for the fixtures and the lovely pitch. I’ve appreciated the global good atmosphere, no matter the results for us, because I personally had good fun in that tournament, I could express myself on the pitch without risking injuries and could spend all my energy in French flair mode.

Toto bol náš prvý turnaj bez skvelého lídra Vladimíra Kubalu. Osobne som stratil blízkeho priateľa a veľmi dobrého vyzývateľa , ktorý viedol slovenské rugby keď som ja viedol Rugby Klub Bratislava. Je len niekoľko málo ľudí, o ktorých vieme , že sú hodnotní a ťažko nahraditeľní.
Tí, ktorí chcú podporiť jeho rodinu v tomto ťažkom období, môžete tak urobiť počas tréningu. Veríme, že najlepším spôsobom ako udržať dedičstvo po ňom nažive , je hľadať viac a viac nových hráčov a takisto dúfajúc,eventuálne zakladať nové kluby vo veľkých mestách Slovenska.
Veľmi chválim trnavskú organizáciu turnaja, výborná komunikácia ohľadom zápasov a taktiež nádherný trávnik. Oceňujem všeobecne skvelú atmosféru bez ohľadu na výsledky nášho teamu, pretože ja osobne som sa na turnaji veľmi dobre zabával. Mohol som ukázať samého seba na ihrisku bez rizika zranenia a mohol som využiť celú svoju energiu vo “francúzskom” móde.
The team at the beginning was totally lost and I can understand that the game of 7’s is very different from the rugby XV but, we could not even do the basics things. We have lost many balls on start kicks, forward passes or knock-on and wrong defensive repositioning.
Just during the last games it was a bit of pride and want to do, everyone worked on themselves for the good of the team.
What I can understand from this experience is that we have a lot to work for the future.
It will not be easy but we will not give up.

Team bol na začiatku úplne stratený a chápem, že “sedmičky”(7´s) sú dosť odlišné od pätnástkového rugby(XV), ale my sme nedokázali urobiť ani základné veci.Veľa lôpt sme stratili už hneď na začiatku pri výkopoch, nahrávkach a zlou polohou obrany.
Až ku koncu sme sa spamätali a bolo to aj o chcení, každý však bojoval za dobro teamu.
Z tejto skúsenosti mi vyplýva, že v budúcnosti máme toho ešte veľa na práci.
Nebude to síce ľahké, ale nevzdáme to.
