Bratislava 20 – 80 Piestany Rugby XV

Po našom prvom zápase jarnej sezóny proti Slovanu vo februári, sme v nedeľu započali aj náš prvý zápas v lige.
Začínajúc zahrievacím tréningom skoro predpoludním, aby sme stmelili lepšie našú súhru v teame, RKB dostalo posily zo Žiliny a Trnavy, aby sme sa posilnili vzhľadom na niekoľko chýbajúcich hráčov, ktorí mali vtedy dovolenky a neboli “po ruke” .Nakoniec sa nám podarilo dať dokopy dokonca aj 15 členný team priamo zložený z hráčov RKB, čo už troška naznačuje lepší stav medzi seniormi v porovnaní s rokom 2016 a teda sme nepoľavili v nábore nových hráčov.
RKB bolo jednoznačne Piešťancami porazené, ktorí tvorili jednoznačne lepší a homogénnejší team.Bohužiaľ sami sme im veľmi ľahko prvých 50 minút umožnili hrať ich hru, až kým sme sa konečne nezobudili. Pár ľudí neurobilo to, čo sa očakávalo, team bol penalizovaný, ale konečný výsledok nereflektoval náš skutočný výkon kôli naším osobných chybám.
Piešťany si víťazstvo jednoznačne zaslúžili zásluhou lepšej organizácie a s takmer žiadnými väčšími chybami. POsledných ľé minút bolo celkom nádejných , nejako sme sa vzchopili a hrali celkom pozerateľnú hru, 4krát sme skórovali aj keď bez konverzie vzhľadom na veterné počasie kopajúc takmer z rohov.

Definitívne sme tak stratili možnosť získať titul šampiónov a tento boj sa sústredí na zápas medzi Žilinou a Piešťanmi koncom Apríla a my vieme, kde treba viac zapracovať aby sme boli viac konkurencieschopní.
Veľmi nás potešilo zapojenie sa Zulfa pri manažovaní našej lavičky. Nesúhlasím s tým čo robil piešťanský Prezident, zhromažďujúc dáta o našich hráčoch pri našej lavičke medzi našími disciplinovanými hráčmi.
Napriek konečnému výsledku sme si všetci užívali hru, hrajúc v rámci svojích možností a dúfame, že si to užili a prítomní diváci.Veľka vďaka patrí aj Slovan Rugby Clubu za umožnenie odohratia zápasu na ich pôde v Čunove, keďže na našom ihrisko nebolo možné zápas odohrať v nedeľu, dalo sa len v sobotu čo však nevyhovovalo nášmu súperovi z Piešťan.

RKB hráči:

Giuseppe, náš kapitán , stále vedie predné rady, je príkladom pozitívneho a energického prístupu na ihrisku a aj mimo neho.Pre Jana to bol prvý oficiálny zápas počas 80 minút, keďže sme nemali žiadnu náhradu za “prop” pozíciu, ukázal veľmi dobré schopnosti ako nový hráč so silou – a želáme mu veľa šťastia počas polročného pobytu v USA, kde sa snáď pridá k nejakému rugby klubu. Dúfajúc, že keď sa vráti naspäť do RKB, zvýši svoj “level”.
Paul, náš najmladší hráč na ihrisku,dal zo seba asi to najlepšie, precízny pri výskokoch a stabilný v scrumoch a na “line outoch” a zlepšením v lkomunikácii.Lukáš, nás druhý hráč v “druhom rade” mal tiež svoj debut v teame s dobrou podporou v klasických záležitostiach ako scrum alebo “line outy”. Salvo a Július v tretej rade vzbudzujú zápas od zápasu čoraz väčšie spoľahnutie na nich, aj keď stále je čo zlepšovať, npr. globálny pohľad, ale to časom príde.

Čo sa týka mojej osoby ako “fly half” a potom sa presúvajúc do scrumu ako číslo 8 vyplniť medzeru po zranenom Richardovi, ktorý odohral 20 minút.Hral som dajúc do toho svoju všetkú energiu do obrannej línie tak veľa ako sa dalo.Bolo mi chlapi potešením si s vami zahrať.Maxim dnes tvoril polovicu nášho scrumu aj bez tréningu s nami, keďže býva v Trnave ale iste sa toho dnes dosť naučil a javí ochotu tvrdo na sebe pracovať, aby bol nabudúce ešte lepší.
Naši dvaja centri Marco a Stephano hrali úplne talianským štýlom s príchuťou olivového oleja a Parmigiana Reggiano, odvidli dobrú prácu provokujúc zadné rady Piešťancov. Na krídlach Patrik a Matthew(ktorý sa potom presunul na pozíciu centra) vykonali účinnú prácu zabezpečujúc loptu v útoku s maličkým neporozumením toho, čo chceli tréneri RKB, ale na druhej strane je vidieť veľké zlepšenie.
Náš full back Arthur mal ťažké obdobie, tratiac ľahké skládky spôsobujúc tým výhodu pre Pešťany, ale so skvelým útokom, ale to nestačilo vyrovnanie globálneho výkonu.
Z lavičky Michal a Martin priniesli pozitívnu energiu do druhého polčasu , keď nahradili krídla.Rovnako Palo nastúpiac v 60.minúte tiež nahradiac zraneného hráča (sledujúc pravidlá, keď už nie je možný návrat hráča, ktorý bol predtým vymenený kôli zraneniu a čeliac tomu, že by sme museli hrať 14ti v prípade zranenia na ihrisku), v druhej rade priniesol čerstvú energiu do vyčerpaného scrumu po dlhom boji.

Klub stále hĺadá nových hráčov hlavne do scrumu,prvá a druhá rada s gentlemanským profilom,silou a bez strachu z primeho kontaktu. Najdôležitejšie je pozitívne nastavenie k pravidelnej práci a tréningom.

Vďaka všetkým, ktorý sa podieľali pri organizácii tejto udalosti.

Charlie – hlavný tréner

After our first match of the season against the Slovan in February, we have started our match for the Slovak championship last Sunday.
Starting to train early in the morning to get a better cohesion within the team, the RKB was pleased to get a support from Zilina and Trnava to reinforce the missing positions, due to the vacations of some members. At least we were pleased to get more than 15 players from RKB, meaning our senior squad is slightly more stable month after month than last year 2016, even we should never stop working to get new players.

The RKB has been heavily defeated by Piestany, better and more homogeny team. Unfortunately, we gave them very easy tries to the first 50 mn, before we finally woke up. Few members didn’t do the job, penalized the team, and the final score didn’t reflect our gameplay and our real level due to individual mistakes. Piestany well deserved their victory with a better organization and barely no big weakest points. Hopefully the last 20 mn, somehow we were able to finally play a descent rugby scoring 4 tries without transformation cause of a windy weather, kicks in the corner.
We have definitively lost our title of champion, and the battle will be hold between Piestany and Zilina then. One official fixture against Zilina end of April, and we know exactly now where to work to catch up a better level and become more competitive.
We are pleased to get Zulf involved to manage the bench. I disagree to the President of Piestany for gathering the personal datas of our players staying on the bench during the game, I would expect next time everyone stay where they belong. Martin, referee of the day, showed again great knowledges of rugby rules, perfectly applied to very disciplined RKB players.
Despite the final score, we all had a good time, playing as much as possible with hands with wide passes, and we wish spectators enjoyed this kind of gameplay. Thanks to the Slovan Rugby Club for sharing their facilities with us, because our pitch was already booked with other events all day long.
The match was set in Cunovo, as our pitch in Ekonom ihrisko was not available on Sunday, only on Saturday but not convenient to Piestany.

RKB players review
Giuseppe, our captain, is still leading our forwards, an example with positive and energetic attitude on and off the pitch. Jano has played his first official match, during 80 mn because we didn’t have prop sub during that day, showing good skills for a new player and good strength – we wish him good luck in USA, during his 6 months expats life where he might join an American rugby club. Hopefully when he would come back in RKB, he would increase his level. Paul, our youngest player on the pitch, gave his best for a half period, precise for jumping, and stable in the scrum, with a good improvement for talking. Lucas, our “second” second raw made his debut to the starting squad and was a good support for the classic movements as scrum and line out. Slavo and Julius on the third raw showed match after match better confidence, better strength even if there are plenty of things to improve, for example a better global vision which will come by the time.

Myself, starting as a fly half, then moving to the scrum as number 8 for filling the gap left by Richard injured after 20 mn, I was playing to spend all my energy for holding the defense line as much as possible. Very pleased to play with you guys.
Maxime was our scrum half of today, not training with us as he lives in Trnava, but for sure he learnt many things today, and he’s willing to work hard for a better gameplay next time. Our pair of center Marco and Stephano, totally Italian style with the taste of Olive oil and Parmigiano Reggiano, did a good job to provoke danger inside the backs line of Piestany. On the wing, Patrik and Matthieu (which has moved then to center position) have made efficient work to secure the ball in attack, with a bit a lack of understanding the gameplay wanted by the RKB coaches, but the improvement was there. Our full back Arthur had difficult period, missing easy tackles, causing tries in a benefit of Piestany, with good attack indeed, but was not enough to balance the global performance made.
On the bench, Michal and Martin came with positive energy on the second half, replacing the wings. Also Palo coming to the 60’ for securing any injury (following the rule not possible to reverse a change, and facing to play only 14 in case of injury of any player on the pitch) on the second raw to bring fresh energy to an exhausted scrum after a long fight.

The club is still looking for new players, especially to the scrum, first raw and second raw, with kind of gentleman profile with good strength, in shape, and not afraid of contacts. The most important is the positive attitude to work and train regularly.
